"The 2018 Batailley, matured in 60% new oak, has a lovely bouquet of ripe black cherries, cassis and light cedar aromas, much more floral in style compared to recent vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. The use of new oak is prudent and judicious, allowing the fruit to express itself toward the harmonious, silky-smooth finish. There is a slightly heady quality here, but this is still Batailley through and through. 2023 - 2042"
