Terms and Conditions

  • We will not sell wine to anyone that under the age of 18 years old.
  • All prices for retail wines are inclusive of VAT and delivery to England, Wales and Scotland.
  • We sell wine by the case 6x75cl, 12x75cl and large format bottles e.g. Magnums, Double Magnums etc. In some cases we will sell Champagne by the bottle.
  • If a wine name is presented with two vintages e.g. 2019/2020 it means we are in the process of changing vintage, if you want to make sure what vintage is available please email us for confirmation.
  • Please be very careful when entering your address details particularly postcodes when placing your order, we cannot be liable for wines being delivered to the wrong address. We will make every effort to collect and re-deliver to the correct address.
  • All orders are dispatched once payment is cleared to our bank account, this generally takes up to 48 hours due to all the security checks done by our payment provider Stripe.
  • All payments for en primeur and in bond wines need to be made on receipt on the invoice otherwise the order will be cancelled.
  • If there any breakages please let us know immediately by phone 020 8065 0000, in order for us to replace the wine.
  • If you believe the wine to be corked, there is a fault or you have received the wrong wine, please contact us immediately so we can arrange for collection and replacement. All wines need to be returned to us in the original condition and boxes, we highly recommend that they are bubble wrapped as you are liable for any breakages in transit. Please note if 1 bottle is faulty in a case of 6x75cl please do not open the other bottles as we cannot refund/replace them. If you have any questions about this please do contact us and we will be happy to help. Wine can be returned 14 days from purchase if corked or faulty.
  • Please note if the wrong wine has been delivered and has been consumed, we cannot replace it, but we will refund the difference in value of the wine against what was originally ordered. 
  • If the wine is out stock a replacement or full refund will be offered.
  • If there is an error with the delivery address please email us (not chat messenger) and we will update the order.
  • All personal customer information is held on a secure encrypted database. If you wish this data to be removed please contact us info@finewinedirect.co.uk or 020 8065 0000.
    • Orders will arrive normally within 5 working days for England and Wales and 8-10 working days for Scotland. You will be notified by email when your wines are dispatched and APC will send you a confirmation email with delivery tracking link.
    • In some cases our payment provider Stripe may identify a payment as suspicious or fraudulent and therefore no wine will be shipped until this is resolved. If you believe this is an error you will need to contact your bank directly to get the issue resolved.
    • We take all fraudulent orders very seriously and work closely with the Police to ensure all cases are dealt with properly. Please do not buy any wine with stolen cards the order will not be processed and you will not receive anything. Anyone who falsely reports a failed delivery will also be reported to the Police immediately. We have a zero tolerance policy for fraudsters and scammers. 
    • We reserve the right to cancel an order and offer a full refund.
    • Regarding privacy we do not store any card details and we never share your personal details with any third party companies. If you require any of your personal details to be removed from our database please instruct us by email at info@finewinedirect.co.uk
    • We have the right to end any promotion, offer, discount code without giving any formal notice.
    • Discount codes cannot be used on any 'in bond' or 'en primeur' purchases.
    • Only one discount can be used per order.
    • We have the authority to change wine prices and details without giving any formal notice.
    • Genuine price errors and wine case size errors on the website; we are not legally obliged to fulfil these orders and in the majority of cases the order will be cancelled and refunded and this will be confirmed by email.
    • Very occasionally a wine vintage will change without us being notified by the producer. We do our very best to make sure the website is accurate, if a different vintage from the one you ordered is delivered it will mean the previous vintage has now sold out.
    • Once payment has been made for wine(s) that is a binding contract between yourself and fine wine direct limited and the price is paid is final and not open to renegotiation at a future date in time, regardless of future market price or marketing promotions.
    • We aim to offer the best prices in the UK market, if you see a genuine price we will do our best to match it, please email us with wine name, price and web link so we can verify.
    • We will not hesitate in getting our lawyers to start legal proceedings against any UK or International company seeking to use our branded terms "fine wine direct" or "finewinedirect" online or offline in any form of marketing or sales.
    • Anyone filing a chargeback after your wine has been delivered will result in us taking legal action against you immediately, we have a zero tolerance policy in place for this form of fraud. As part of our company policy we also report all matters to the Police.

    FRAUD PREVENTION
    We take all fraudulent orders very seriously and work closely with the Police to ensure all cases are dealt with properly. Please do not buy any wine with stolen cards the order will not be processed, and you will not receive any wine. Anyone who falsely reports a failed delivery will also be reported to the Police immediately. We have a zero-tolerance policy for fraudsters and scammers. We have appointed a top London lawyer to deal with all fraudulent cases on our behalf, if you have attempted to commit fraud against Fine Wine Direct, they will be in contact with you very soon.

    Right to cancel
    As per the www.gov.uk guidelines all customers have the right to cancel an order 14 days after it has been delivered. The wine must be returned in its original box and no wine must have been consumed or opened. Please contact us on 020 8065 0000 to arrange for the wine to be collected. A full refund will be issued once the wines arrive and we have conducted our checks. We will arrange a refund within 14 days of the wine being returned to us.

    Fine Wines sold ‘in bond’ or ‘under bond’ maybe cancelled 2 days after placing the order.  We will arrange a refund within 14 days of receiving a written request to cancel your order.
