The story of the House of Taittinger is rooted in the early twentieth century with the purchase of the chateau de la Marquetterie at the end of World War 1. From this point, and increasingly after the second World War the family run business expanded exponentially, but its success, together with business diversification, led to its acquisition by a group headed by Crédit Agricole in 2006. Two years later Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger returned to run the house and make it once again a significant family run business.

From a blend of 35 to 40 crus, the proportionally higher content of Chardonnay, at 40%, with 35% Pinot Noir and 25% Pinot Meunier, gives this Taittinger Brut reserve its essential fresh and citrus quality. The low sugar content (8g/l), the proportion of 20% reserve wine, and that it is aged for three to four years, combine to create a distinctive Champagne redolent of its source terroirs.
