Grapes:

The Les Ormes de Pez is a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot raised in 45% new oak.

Château Ormes de Pez (owned and managed by the Cazes family, from the pretigious Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac) produces an opulent, full-bodied and powerful wine. The 2011 exhibits a proper balance between intense flavours of black fruit, spices, spicy tannins and long finish. If you like powerful, tannic and complex Bordeaux wines, this typical Saint-Estèphe is for you. Do not hesitate to keep a few aside, it is only starting to open up and will age very well.

"Wonderful aromas of currants and blackberries with hints of spices. Full body, with fabulous tannins and a long and creamy texture to the finish. I love the depth of fruit to this. Best ever from here. Great value for the vintage. Try in 2017"

"The Les Ormes de Pez has a vivacious bouquet with ripe blackberry, briary and cedar fruit - nicely defined and a little more exuberant that its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a core of ripe blackberry and raspberry fruit laced with white pepper, leading to a nicely composed, slightly fleshy finish. Forward and alluring - this is a great Saint Estephe that should be afforded a decade in the cellar. Tasted November 2012."
