The palate is soft with a silky mouthfeel and subtle tannins, notes of red cherries and violets on the finish.

Food
Serve with pork chops, grilled fish or roast turkey.

Region
The vineyards of Beaujolais fall on the granite rich slopes of a hilly region between Mâcon and Lyon at the southern limit of Burgundy. The only vine variety authorised for red wines is Gamay, traditionally grown as free standing bush vines. A small amount of Chardonnay is also grown. The most favourable vineyard sites produce `villages` wines, and the 10 named `Cru` villages of Beaujolais represent the best vineyards of the region and produce the longest-lived and fullest style of Beaujolais.

Producer
Patrick Tranchard took over the Domaine from his father in 1994 and has since commited to farm their vineyards sustainably gaining HVE 3 status. The domaine is located on the heights of the Fleurie appellation in a climat called `Poncie` and has 14 ha of vineyards spread over Fleurie Poncie, Moulin a Vent Rochegres, Saint-Amour Les Capitans and Pouilly-Fuisse. He focusses on creating wines which are a true expression of the terroir.
